Inspiring the next generation of 'bee carers', by bringing the love of bees into schools and day care centres
Are you looking for a lighthearted, fun and educational experience to enhance your curriculum?
Our short, interactive presentation includes bright, eye-catching teaching aids and a fully functioning observation hive for viewing bees up-close.
We cover:
Basic life cycle of a bee
Roles within the hive
What bees eat
How bees communicate
Basic hive components
Why we need bees
We provide kids' bee suits for dress-up play and honey tasting at the end of the session.
For children aged 7 years and up we can also offer a team-building role play game and for the younger kids we have a portable buzzy bee ride.
We can arrange for leave-behind materials such as colouring-in/drawing activity sheets and lesson re-caps.
Other ways we can help educational facilities:
Bulk honey supply
Sponsorship of prizes
Please contact us to enquire about booking your FREE 'Beekids' session.
NOTE: We recently had a baby, so bookings for our Beekids sessions are currently on hold. Thank you for understanding.
Kerikeri and surrounds only. Subject to availability Sep-Apr. No sessions are scheduled during the winter months. Whilst this is a free service, we do request inclusion in school newsletters, staff rooms and noticeboards.
