NUCLEUS Beehives

**PRE-ORDER NOW FOR DECEMBER 2020**

NUCLEUS hives or 'NUCs' are supplied as frames only, to be placed within an existing (empty) hive setup. If you are new to beekeeping this can be a nice way to ease yourself into it, as your confidence will grow as the colony size does. For others, NUCs provide an affordable way to increase hive numbers.

We offer two size options:

• 3-frame starter NUC
• 5-frame NUC

Your 3-frame starter NUC includes: 

• 3x Full-depth frames (wood/plastic - brood, food & laying space) 
• Hybrid (Carniolan/Italian) Queen (can be marked on request) 
• Small bee colony

Your 5-frame NUC includes:

• 5x Full-depth frames (wood/plastic with brood, food & laying space) 
• Hybrid (Carniolan/Italian) Queen (can be marked on request) 
• Small bee colony

NUC options don't include any hive ware, so please bring your own when collecting, either early morning or late evening. We can box up for you if provided with your equipment (to be arranged prior). Delivery and transfer on-site is also available by arrangement (Auckland/Northland), please contact us to discuss your requirements. 

Alternatively we provide options for you to purchase a 5-frame corflute NUC transportation box @ $20 inc GST each, which can be used to house your frames until you return to your apiary. 

We prefer not to ship, but can send NUCs at buyer’s risk via FastWay Couriers or Courier Post. Shipping is only available in conjunction with the addition of the corflute NUC box (for a 5-frame NUC) or the 3-frame NUC transport package detailed below. Our free shipping offer is not available in conjunction with NUC sales. Shipping cost is based on location and quantities, so please contact us for a quote prior to placing your order. We reserve the right to refuse shipping if we feel it will be too stressful on the bees.

Transport package for 3-frame NUC is $30 inc GST and includes: 

• Corflute NUC transport box
• 2-frame feeder (to fill the remaining space in the box and keep frames in place)
